Each Circle consists of five FNIM and five non-Indigenous participants, ensuring equal representation of voices. Here, they are building “mutual recognition, mutual respect, sharing and mutual responsibility.” (TRC, 2015). It is from this which reconciliation can be propelled. Circles meet once a week for ten weeks for 90 minutes and are held physically or via ZOOM. The circles are at no cost to participants, allowing for all to join who would like to participate.
Together, the participants pick themes found from on our website. Then during the Circles, participants share their knowledge and experiences, and listen to one another in a safe and respectful place. This dialogue helps expand perspectives, encourages reflection, and brings light to the topics.
Circles also emphasize each of our roles in reconciliation and allow for individuals to actively participate in this process. By participating, we build a brighter, more truthful future and lay a path for future generations to come.
